If one looks at Etymological Dictionary of Norn J.Jakobsen Chapter IV. 4. We see that masculine nouns ending in -i (Masc Weak), are often preserved in the accusative, Jakobsen notes bakka is a very common uncompounded form, showing this case. &lt;br /&gt;
Seeing as Nynorn has already preserved several Masc Weak nouns with the -i ending in the Nominative, I think this word should be re spelled (and pronounced bakki).&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
